Celsius to Fahrenheit converter
This Celsius to Fahrenheit converter turns degrees Celsius into degrees Fahrenheit and back as you type, to read a European recipe, a weather forecast abroad or a thermometer set to the other scale.
Formula: °F = °C × 1.8 + 32 20 × 1.8 + 32 = 68

How to use the Celsius to Fahrenheit converter
Type a temperature in degrees Celsius and read the degrees Fahrenheit next to it, or swap the scales with the round button. The list below adds Kelvin, the scientists' scale, plus Réaumur and Rankine. Negative values work too, just type the minus sign.
The formula never changes: multiply degrees Celsius by 9/5 (that is 1.8), then add 32. The other way, subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9. NIST gives the same relations. The Celsius to Fahrenheit converter applies the exact formula with no rounding along the way.

Oven, fever and weather benchmarks
In the kitchen, European recipes give oven temperatures in Celsius: 180 °C is 356 °F, close to the 350 °F setting, and 200 °C is 392 °F. Our oven temperature conversion guide adds gas marks and fan ovens.
For health, 37 °C is 98.6 °F, and a fever of 38.5 °C reads 101.3 °F on a US thermometer. For the weather, 20 °C is 68 °F, 30 °C is 86 °F, and water freezes at 0 °C, or 32 °F.
Mental shortcut: double the Celsius figure and add 30 for a rough Fahrenheit value, close enough between 10 and 25 °C. And a curiosity: at -40 the two scales meet, so the Celsius to Fahrenheit converter shows the same number on both sides.
